Belle Gibson is the name on everybody’s lips today, as she admits to faking brain cancer to promote her profile as a healing health guru.<\/h3>\n

Belle made headlines with her story of survival, after she announced to the world she had healed herself naturally from terminal brain cancer. <\/p>\n

The 23-year-old built her global business – including a top-rating app and cookbook – off her claims that she ate healthy, changed her lifestyle and introduced proper exercise into her lifestyle to heal herself from the terminal illness.<\/p>\n

Belle came under fire in March, after it was discovered she had raised money for five charities that actually had no record of receiving any money from her.<\/p>\n

Soon, her story of survival was put under the microscope. She admitted to perhaps falling victim to a misdiagnosis.<\/p>\n

Now, Belle has used Woman’s Weekly as a platform to come clean.<\/p>\n

“My Life-long struggle with the truth,” she wrote.<\/p>\n

“If I don’t have an answer, then I will sort of theorise it myself and come up with one. I think that’s an easy thing to often revert to if you don’t know what the answer is,” she said.<\/p>\n

“When I started school, my mum went, ‘My daughter is grown up now’. All of a sudden I was walking to school on my own, making school lunches and cleaning the house every day.<\/p>\n

“It was my responsibility to do grocery shopping, do the washing, arrange medical appointments and pick up my brother. I didn’t have any toys.”<\/p>\n

Belle has not asked for forgiveness. She said she was speaking out because “it was the responsible thing to do.”<\/p>\n

But a former friend of Belle’s has said it’s taken her too long to “do the right thing”\u2026<\/p>\n

“It’s inhumane to deceive sick and vulnerable people and charities. <\/p>\n

“If she wanted to do the responsible thing she would never have done this in the first place.”<\/p>\n

Belle’s cookbook has been removed from the shelves, and her app is no longer available.<\/p>\n
