A man is expected to be charged over the murder of Leeton bride-to-be Stephanie Scott who disappeared on Easter Sunday.<\/h3>\n

A 24-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday evening at a home on Maiden Avenue in Leeton in southwest NSW.<\/p>\n

He is in police custody and will appear in Griffith Local Court later on Thursday.<\/p>\n

Ms Scott had been excitedly planning her wedding to her childhood sweetheart and a week from the big day went to her workplace, Leeton High School, to finish off a handover to a teacher replacing her while on honeymoon in Tahiti.<\/p>\n

Family, friends and volunteers had said Ms Scott’s disappearance was out of character.<\/p>\n

Her mother, Merrilyn Scott, feared her daughter’s car may have rolled off the road.<\/p>\n

“It’s either something with her car or foul play,” she told AAP.<\/p>\n

Ms Scott’s body has not been found.<\/p>\n

Police are still searching for Ms Scott’s car, a red Mazda 3 sedan with the NSW registration BZ-19-CD.<\/p>\n

The 26-year-old was due to marry her fiance, Aaron Leeson Woolley, in Eugowra on Saturday.<\/p>\n

Police are also keen to speak to anyone who may have seen an older model, white Toyota Hilux space-cab 2WD with a canopy over the back travelling in Leeton or the surrounding area.<\/p>\n

Over the past year Ms Scott had been planning her wedding to Mr Woolley.<\/p>\n

Her last known contact was an email she sent after midday on Sunday to a bus company about transporting wedding guests this weekend.<\/p>\n

A taskforce had been formed to investigate Ms Scott’s disappearance.<\/p>\n

Officers visited the home on Maiden Avenue at about 7.30pm on Wednesday and were speaking to two residents, when a third resident, a 24-year-old man, arrived home.<\/p>\n

The 24-year-old man spent the night at Leeton Police Station.<\/p>\n

It’s being reported the 24-year-old has a connection to the local high school, according to Seven Network.<\/p>\n
