Analysis of one of Flight 4U9525’s cockpit voice recorders reveals that one of the pilots was trying to smash the door down to get back in.<\/h3>\n

UPDATE<\/p>\n

Mystery still surrounds the crash as more updates are coming through.<\/p>\n

It isn’t known why the pilot left the cockpit and left the other in charge of the plane.<\/p>\n

The conversation between the pilots during the early part of the flight from Barcelona to D\u00fcsseldorf has been described as very calm.<\/p>\n

Then, shortly before the crash occured, the audio has revealed that one of the men left the cockpit and could not re-enter.<\/p>\n

“The guy outside is knocking lightly on the door and there is no answer,” the investigator said.<\/p>\n

“And then he hits the door stronger and no answer.<\/p>\n

“There is never an answer.”<\/p>\n

He said: “You can hear he is trying to smash the door down.”<\/p>\n

The audio has given more insight into the events leading up to the Germanwings crash, but it has also left a lot of questions unanswered.<\/p>\n

The investigation is continuing and will track engine noise and every alarm, vibration and thump will be analysed.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, students have gathered at the Joseph-Koenig-Gymnasium high school to pay tribute to 16 students and two teachers from the school who were on Germanwings flight 4U9525.<\/p>\n

The Foreign Affairs Department has confirmed two Australians were on board fallen Germanwings flight 4U9525 which crashed into the French Alps on Tuesday morning, killing all 150 people on board.<\/p>\n

The Foreign Affairs department has confirmed the Australians to be a Victorian woman and her son.<\/p>\n

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of the victims of this shocking tragedy,” Minister Julie Bishop said.<\/p>\n

Minister Bishop has said if anyone has concerns for friends or family who might have been on board the flight, they should contact the Department of Foreign Affairs emergency centre on 1300 555 135.<\/p>\n

An Airbus A320 carrying 150 passengers and crew was travelling from Barcelona, Spain to Dusseldorf, Germany on Tuesday morning around 10:30am local time when the plane lost radio contact.<\/p>\n

Germanwings Flight 4U9525 reportedly sent out a mayday to air traffic control just before losing contact.<\/p>\n

Helicopters on the scene spotted debris in the French Alps, at the plane’s final resting place.<\/p>\n

The plane was carrying 144 passengers, two pilots and four cabin crew – it’s not yet know whether there were any Australians on board.<\/p>\n

Flight 4U9525 was the first flight of the day, and was only 46 minutes into the journey when trouble struck – the plane plummeted 31 200 feet in eight minutes\u2026 The cause of the crash is still unknown.<\/p>\n

“The plane is disintegrated,” a local councillor Gillbert Sauvan told Les Echos news.<\/p>\n

“The largest debris is the size of a car.”<\/p>\n

According to the French Interior Ministry spokesman Pierre-Henry Brandet, debris from the crash has been spotted near the town of Barcelonnette, which is on the southern edge of the French Alps near a village in the Digne region.<\/p>\n

He told the local news that the search ahead would be “extremely long and extremely difficult.”<\/p>\n

One local told al-Jazeera he heard the plane go down.<\/p>\n

“There was a loud noise and then suddenly nothing. At first I thought it came from fighter jets that often hold drills in the area. The plane crashed just 2km from here, high on a mountain.”<\/p>\n

The last words from the cockpit were reportedly “Emergency emergency”.<\/p>\n

Helicopters have reportedly arrived on scene with 80 firefighters and 200 police en route.<\/p>\n
