The Vice President of Qatar Airways has shamed one of his staff, after she got too drunk in her personal time\u2026 Is this appropriate?<\/h3>\n

The controversial move to shame a stewardess who got drunk in her personal time at staff accommodation has made international headlines.<\/p>\n

Vice President of Qatar Airways sent a mass Email out to the entire company with a photo of the disgraced stewardess, slumped on the floor outside her staff accommodation, sleeping off a large drinking sesh.<\/p>\n

In the Email, accompanied with the candid photo, he took the opportunity to explain how “disappointed” he was with the cabin crew member’s behaviour.<\/p>\n

“I am so ashamed and disturbed by this behaviour displayed by a tenured member of our team, an adult who has been with the company for over nine years.<\/p>\n

“How can we change rules when we do not behave as mature individuals. I am very disappointed.”<\/p>\n

Now this isn’t just ANY all-staff Email.<\/p>\n

There are 31 000 employees at Qatar airways – it’s the world’s tenth largest airline, with over 100 aircraft.<\/p>\n

There has been worldwide backlash over the Vice President’s method of example setting.<\/p>\n

A spokesperson for the airline said, “The email was sent to impress on our cabin crew that, to make their working environment as good as it can be, while still respecting the norms and values of the Qatari society in which we work, everyone has a part to play.”<\/p>\n
