Graham Cornes says there\u2019s got to be a better way.<\/h3>\n

\u201cI just think it\u2019s too much, it\u2019s too intense, it\u2019s too soon,\u201c Graham Cornes said on FIVEAA, noting he was on his \u201cold hobby horse again about the NAB Cup\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s got to be another way without pandering to sponsors to bring teams into the start of a footy season.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cornesy said youngsters could be exposed to competition through other forms of trial games and a pre-season competition dulled round one of the season proper.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve always thought this detracted from the start of the season.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe opening round of a season should be just something really special, really wow,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut we sort of cruise into it, we\u2019ve had plenty of football, we\u2019re almost sick of the footy again by the time the season starts.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m not sure what the better way is, but I think there\u2019s a better way,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
