The construction union is taking legal action against the developer of the $100 million Adelaidean project on Frome St near Amalfi restaurant, reports David Penberthy.<\/p>\n
Penbo told FIVEAA Breakfast on Tuesday:<\/p>\n
\u201cThe union is claiming that officials were unlawfully denied entry to this major CBD building site and quote \u2018intimated and threatened\u2019\u2026<\/p>\n
\u201cThe union is arguing that the operator of the site — a man called Donald McCondichie — that when one of the union reps was seeking entry to the site under health and safety laws, Mr McCondichie is alleged to have turned around and said \u2018no you\u2019re bloody not\u2019, he called the officials interstate union thugs said \u2018that\u2019s not the way we do things around here\u2019 and then he told the union official to \u2018f–k off\u2019 and that he had the safest site in Adelaide.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn their defence, the building company says that they were the ones who were intimidated and threatened by the union officials. They accuse the officials of refusing to provide specific details of their safety concerns and they claim one official refused to produce his entry permit saying, \u2018you don\u2019t need to f–king see it\u2019 and then shouted at Mr McCondichie and called him an \u2018f–king c—.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
