Chairman David Koch has ruled out a suggestion from Collingwood that Port Adelaide could wear a non-black and white \u2018prison bars\u2019 jumper in its 150th<\/sup> anniversary year next season.<\/h3>\n

\u201cThen it\u2019s not the prison bars,\u201d Kochie told FIVEAA Breakfast on Monday.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s been a long-standing agreement that was signed way before my time when the club came into the AFL and we have to get Collingwood\u2019s permission under that agreement. We\u2019ve obviously asked for that permission but we haven\u2019t heard back yet. We need to hear pretty soon.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s no argument with the magpie either. I can understand Eddie saying you can\u2019t have two magpie teams, but no one can trademark two primary colours\u2026 there are plenty of blue and whites in the league. But that\u2019s a legally binding agreement as it stands. I\u2019ve got to say, Collingwood and Eddie have always been really good about it when we\u2019ve requested it in the past.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe turn 150 years old next year and we want to celebrate that 150 years and the guernseys that we\u2019ve worn. The prison bars is one of them, the blue and white hoops is another one, which was the first one that we started playing footy in.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a big thing for us, 150 years — foundation club of the SANFL, the only non-Victorian club to have risen from community football to the elite level and it\u2019s something we\u2019re really proud of and we want to respect next year.<\/p>\n

\u201cNext year is going to be a big celebration across a whole number of levels of the club.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re very happy with our guernsey at the moment. It\u2019s not on the table to make [the prison bars] our default home guernsey. We would love to wear it in Showdowns if we can, but it\u2019s all up to Collingwood.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
