Penbo said during Tuesday\u2019s Breaking @ 8 segment:<\/p>\n

\u201cSince 7.30am I\u2019ve spoken to a few people with the SANFL. This is massive this story. This is something that threatens to tear asunder the relationship between the SANFL and the two AFL clubs who many people in the SANFL regard as interlopers\u2026 it raises huge questions about the ongoing viability of that relationship.<\/p>\n

\u201cOne part of this story that is hugely important — because we\u2019re talking here about young blokes — is the extent to which the existence of the midseason draft is becoming an almost unmanageable and divisive issue within these clubs.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou\u2019ve got young men who are just trying to further their careers\u2026 who are now being treated like rats or dogs within the club. It\u2019s got to the point where players are genuinely emotionally distressed at being the meat in the sandwich from a system that is placing so much totally undeserved pressure on them.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe people I\u2019ve spoke to who are senior administrators are saying that something has to be done and if it\u2019s not done these guys are really going to struggle because they\u2019re already struggling.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Five SANFL players were selected by AFL clubs in the midseason draft on Monday:<\/p>\n
