\u201cI\u2019m totally in favour of equal rights for people regardless of their sexuality\u2026<\/p>\n

[But] having said that this strikes me as the well meaning thing that lefties advocate in their own Pollyanna way, completely ignorant of the fact it will rub the average punter up the wrong way.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf it\u2019s rubbed up someone like me\u2026 it will certainly inflame people who are much more socially conservative than me.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Earlier DreamBIG\u2019s Susannah Sweeney told The Advertiser<\/a> the reading sessions would \u201ccelebrate diversity\u201d and that \u201cdrag queens are colourful and cool\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cSorry, I could not disagree with that more,\u201d Penbo said. \u201cI just think it\u2019s dumb.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe idea that you have a room full of four year olds sitting there listening to Possum Magic being read by a bloke in a dress\u2026 I think it\u2019s an absurdity.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a classic example of people who are obsessed with sophisticated adult concepts imposing it in a completely inappropriate place. If that makes me a bigot I\u2019m a bigot but I think it\u2019s bullshit.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
