Certain members of the state Liberal government are \u201cmore than open\u201d to resident\u2019s who are pushing to see the Adelaide 500 supercars race moved to Tailem Bend, reports FIVEAA\u2019s David Penberthy.<\/h3>\n

David said during Thursday\u2019s Breaking @ 8 segment that a \u201chornet\u2019s nest\u201d had been opened up since his comments earlier in the week about \u201cchatter\u201d regarding the race\u2019s location<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere are some voices in the city, and they include some members of our current Liberal government, who are more than open to the complaints of eastern suburbs’ residents,\u201d Penbo said.<\/p>\n

\u201cDavid Ridgway the minister for tourism has issued a statement saying the government \u2018has no plans to change the existing arrangement beyond 2021\u2019 but the story goes on to say that the opposition did a freedom of information request which revealed that residents have started lobbying the state government to move the race and they wanted it moved after last year\u2019s March election.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

According to the story the chair of a city resident\u2019s group has confirmed they are lobbying the Marshall government to move the race to Tailem Bend.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs we said the other day, this is a fight that has started here in Adelaide and there\u2019s no doubt it\u2019s going to continue behind the scenes.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
