In an \u201cinteresting sign of the times\u201d emails sent from Adelaide Fringe staff are nominating the sender\u2019s preferred pronouns, say FIVEAA breakfast\u2019s David and Will.<\/h3>\n

Penbo said during Wednesday\u2019s Breaking @ 8 segment:<\/p>\n

\u201cIn our discussions with the Fringe back and forth via email about different interviews and what have you\u2026 we noticed an interesting thing and that is Adelaide Fringe staff on the bottom of their email addresses are listing the pronoun by which they would like to be described as.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo if you\u2019re \u2018Elsie Stringbag\u2019 working in the ticketing department at the Fringe your email sign off now says Pronouns: she, her, Pronouns: he, him. So if you\u2019re talking about Elsie you say \u201cshe\u2019s<\/em> the woman you talk to\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cBecause there are other terms that you can use if you are neither male nor female. Your email sign off would say you don\u2019t want to be referred to as he or she, that your preferred pronoun is they or them.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
