South Australian crossbench MP Rebekha Sharkie has strongly hinted Peter Dutton could face another move to refer him to the High Court over possible Constitutional breaches.<\/h3>\n

\u201cI think we will revisit that,\u201d Ms Sharkie told FIVEAA breakfast on Wednesday. \u201cI think it\u2019s important that we look at the solicitor general.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cMy understanding is that advice Peter Dutton has received says that there\u2019s questions to answer. The best thing that could happen is for the government or Peter Dutton to refer himself, because if he\u2019s supposed to be there the High Court will find so, and if he\u2019s not then he needs to make that decision.<\/p>\n

\u201cI want to make it very clear to government that I think Australia takes a very dim view of any protection racket that they\u2019re running on behalf of him or other members. If you\u2019re supposed to be there the High Court finds you so.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Former Liberal MP Julia Banks\u2019 defection to the crossbench this week has increased pressure on Mr Dutton after a previous attempt to refer him to the High Court fell short by one vote.<\/p>\n

Mr Dutton is under a “constitutional cloud<\/a>” over a financial interest in childcare centres that have received government payments.<\/p>\n\n
