I had no energy at all.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s been really hard but whatever doesn\u2019t kill you just makes you stronger.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Tom\u2019s bravery and resilience resonated with Alan who himself went through <a href=\"https:\/\/cms.fiveaa.com.au\/shows\/jade-robran\/aa-announcer-opens-up-about-his-ride-from-hell\">a battle with cancer in 2016<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cMate, for you to be sitting here with a big smile on your face looking at me now,\u201d Alan told Tom&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve been through chemotherapy and it damn near took me out as well so I can sympathise.
