David and Will on FIVEAA Breakfast are putting candidates in the upcoming local elections under the magnifying glass, including Marion City councillor Nick Kerry who, Penbo revealed, has a \u201cpretty interesting past\u201d.<\/h3>\n

\u201cBack in 2015 it was revealed that he had to change his name after he quit his job with the Australian Taxation Office after what were described as allegations of serious misconduct,\u201d Penbo said on Monday.<\/p>\n

\u201cApparently the tax office suspended his employment in 2007 over allegations that he accessed government records and computer systems without authorisation. At the time he was using the surname Korovin.<\/p>\n

\u201cApparently too in his political past he also ran for office against Prime Minister Paul Keating. He was also ordered to apologise to the Marion City Council\u2019s planning body after he said that he was only joking when he suggested he could be influenced by wine and dinner\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Penbo also mentioned occasions in 2015 when Kerry admitted he was drunk during Marion\u2019s Council\u2019s debate about flying the gay pride flag, and last week when he was ordered to apologise following a $12,000 taxpayer-funded investigation found he \u2018engaged in inappropriate and unreasonable behaviour\u2019 towards a council staffer.<\/p>\n\n
