Admitting he\u2019ll \u201cprobably get into trouble\u201d, David Koch has criticised Alan Jones\u2019 treatment of Opera House boss Louise Herron over a plan to advertise the Everest Cup on the sails of the Opera House.<\/h3>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t think he did himself any favours with that whatsoever,\u201d Kochie told FIVEAA Breakfast on Monday. \u201cThe Opera House is an iconic landmark that needs to be treated like an iconic landmark.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cPromoting a horse race\u2026 I can see his point of view, but I can also see the Opera House\u2019s point of view saying, \u2018Where do you draw the line with this?\u2019<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t think taxpayers want it used as a billboard for everything and every powerful person in Sydney who comes to the opera house and says, \u2018Can you promote something that I have an interest in\u2026\u2019<\/p>\n

\u201cThe tone of the interview<\/a> was way too strong. I think using a position of influence to almost bully someone into making a decision, that does not sit comfortably with me.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s a bit of a conflict of interest. We all know Alan\u2019s love of racing. He has some pretty powerful mates associated with the Everest\u2026<\/p>\n

\u201cIn my mind, purely my personal view, is that you\u2019ve got to be really careful of conflicts of interests and getting on bandwagons that you\u2019re closely associated with. I think it can take away objectivity.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

DAVID PENBERTHY: <\/strong>\u201cGood on you, Kochie, because a lot of people because of the nature of the personality involved would run a million miles from offering an opinion on this. I think it\u2019s commendable that you do.\u201d<\/p>\n
