Port Adelaide star Ollie Wines <\/strong>has reassured fans he doesn\u2019t plan to go anywhere following reports earlier in the week he had \u2018backflipped<\/a>\u2019 on his future at the club.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think perhaps a couple of headlines<\/a> came around my wording of answering the question about my contract,\u201d Ollie told FIVEAA on Thursday. \u201cFrom my perspective, from the club\u2019s perspective, nothing\u2019s changed in the last 8-10 weeks. I\u2019m conformable where I\u2019m at.<\/h3>\n

\u201cAs soon as you say something that\u2019s a little bit off and you haven\u2019t been saying it, a headline will be created. From my perspective I\u2019m completely in the same spot I was for my whole career — I love this club, I enjoy playing with my teammates, the coaches\u2026 it will get done.\u201d<\/h3>\n<\/blockquote>\n

FIVEAA understands the length of the new deal is the sticking point in contract talks, with Wines preferring a shorter — possibly two-year — deal, while the club would prefer to lock down their star mid on a longer deal.<\/p>\n

\u201cI guess there\u2019s a little bit of worry going around the supporters, but I want to assure them I\u2019m happy where I am,\u201d Wines said. \u201cI\u2019m looking to sign soon.\u201d<\/h3>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s nothing in your contract that says you have to sign four months before your current contract\u2019s up. By no means am I rushing to sign. I\u2019ve still got plenty of time.<\/h3>\n

\u201cI\u2019m comfortable with where the club\u2019s at and what they\u2019re offering, it\u2019s just I don\u2019t want to sign yet. For people to not understand that it\u2019s difficult for me because I\u2019m the only one that can control that decision.<\/h3>\n

\u201cObviously supporters can be worried\u2026 but I\u2019ve got to assure them I\u2019m happy, the club\u2019s comfortable.\u201d<\/h3>\n<\/blockquote>\n
