Eddie Betts says it was obvious coach Don Pyke wasn\u2019t happy when he strode out to the Adelaide Crows three-quarter time huddle during the club\u2019s ugly loss to Melbourne last weekend.<\/h3>\n

Pyke famously eyeballed<\/a> his players in the huddle without saying a word.<\/p>\n

Betts told FIVEAA:<\/p>\n

\u201cJust by looking in his eyes when he walked out you could just tell we were either going to get a whack here or\u2026 [silence] says more than a whack, him staring just to see if we\u2019re focused, if we\u2019re present.<\/h3>\n

\u201cIn games like that\u2026 you kind of float through the game and by the time three-quarter time comes they\u2019re 15 or 20 goals up and you think, bloody hell, how am I supposed to stop that?<\/h3>\n

\u201cHe came into the huddle and made sure everyone was still focussed, everyone is still here, everyone is still present instead of giving up. He made eye contact with everyone to make sure they were present.\u201d<\/h3>\n<\/blockquote>\n

And when the silence finally broke\u2026<\/p>\n

\u201cI think he just said, \u2018That\u2019s not effort — go speak to your line coaches.\u2019\u201d<\/h3>\n<\/blockquote>\n
