SA CEO of Corrections David Brown<\/strong> has confirmed on FIVEAA<\/strong> his department lost contact with 750 electronic monitoring ankle bracelets when Telstra went down on Monday<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe experienced the outage for about an hour and 40 minutes and we did lose contact with bracelets during that time,\u201d Mr Brown said.<\/h3>\n

\u201cWe were getting data intermittently. We received dumps of data from Telstra during that period that allowed us to check on compliance to the people on electronic monitoring.\u201d<\/h3>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s a delay in us receiving the data when Telstra had an outage\u2026 which is not something we want at all, but we don\u2019t lose the data.<\/h3>\n

\u201cAs soon as we re-establish contact with Telstra that data comes through to us and we can retrospectively check to see of anyone\u2019s breached.<\/h3>\n

\u201cAs we went through all the data on the morning we had no adverse events, we had no one in breach of their curfew during that period.\u201d<\/h3>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n
