During the \u2018Breaking @ 8\u2019 segment on Tuesday\u2019s show, David Penberthy detailed the shocking state of all of Adelaide\u2019s EDs, excluding Noarlunga, on Monday 7 May:<\/p>\n
The Royal Adelaide<\/strong> was over capacity from Midday all the way until 1am. The worst time was 3pm when 91 people were in the ED including 19 people sitting around waiting to be seen. During this 13-hour period, there were always 15-20 people sitting around waiting to be seen.<\/p>\n
Flinders<\/strong> was over capacity from 11am yesterday to 4am this morning, with the worst time 3pm, 78 people with the capacity at Flinders just over 50.<\/p>\n
Lyell McEwin<\/strong>, over capacity 11am yesterday until 4am this morning, with the worst time 6pm-8pm last night when 66 people were in the ED, which has a capacity of only 40. 24 people sitting around waiting to be seen.<\/p>\n
Modbury<\/strong>, over capacity 2pm yesterday until 1am this morning. 46 people were there at 6pm last night with a capacity of only 30.<\/p>\n
QEH<\/strong>, over capacity all evening, from 5pm to midnight. 44 people there at 8pm capacity of 30.<\/p>\n
Women\u2019s and Children\u2019s<\/strong>, over capacity most afternoon between 2 and midnight. Capacity of 25, peak of 36 people.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
A spokesman for Health Minister Stephen Wade said:<\/p>\n
\u201cMonday\u2019s tend to be the busiest for the EDs and overcrowding happens regularly. It is of concern to the minister and he is working on a range of solutions.\u201d<\/h3>\n<\/blockquote>\n
