A man who was kidnapped and abused by Colin Charles Humphrys when he was nine says he felt \u201chot rage\u201d over a decision to release<\/a> the serial offender from prison.<\/h3>\n

The man, now in his late 30s and known simply as XX, has spoke to The Advertiser<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cTo give this man, this 66-year-old man with a criminal history spanning 30 years of persistent, recidivist behaviour, one more chance? I felt hot rage,\u201d XX told the paper.<\/h3>\n

\u201cMy rage was directed at Justice Kelly, that she could even consider releasing this man.<\/h3>\n

\u201cI was — I am — angry that there\u2019s very little that I can do to influence the decisions of these people… my experience doesn\u2019t seem to have any legal gravitas.<\/h3>\n

\u201cOurs is a system that ensures that more children will be harmed.<\/h3>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s the system we are living with… it\u2019s set up to empower paedophiles to reoffend.<\/h3>\n

\u201cMore weight has to be given to people\u2019s behaviour over their words… it\u2019s very easy to promise people that you will do better next time.<\/h3>\n

\u201cTo me, \u2018rehabilitation\u2019 is just a buzzword to get parole so you can reoffend.<\/h3>\n

\u201cWhat is the rehabilitation of a 66-year-old paedophile worth? What\u2019s he going to do? Is he going to get a job? Is he going to make society a better place?<\/h3>\n

\u201cHe chose to be institutionalised, decades ago, by continuing to reoffend.<\/h3>\n

\u201cHe doesn\u2019t care about jail… predators know how to find prey, and these criminals are even more sophisticated than that.\u201d<\/h3>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Humphrys is due to be released on May 14, pending the outcome of an appeal by the Director of Public Prosecutions.<\/p>\n\n
