David Penberthy challenged Jay Weatherill when the premier rang in to commend him on his blunt warning<\/a> for Adelaide and South Australia.<\/h3>\n

\u201cIsn\u2019t it incumbent upon guys like you to be bolder and take on these people a lot more,\u201d Penbo asked the premier.<\/h3>\n

\u201cWhy don\u2019t you just start going to war with more people who stand in the way of getting stuff done?\u201d<\/h3>\n

The premier \u201cabsolutely\u201d agreed that was his job:<\/p>\n

\u201cMy job is to paint a vision of the future and get people to understand it and to buy into it,” he said.<\/h3>\n

\u201cI get criticised for picking too many fights. Look at what we\u2019ve done…<\/h3>\n

\u201cWe have the Adelaide Oval, the forces of negativity said we shouldn\u2019t do that. The bridge, they said we shouldn\u2019t do that. The new RAH, they said we shouldn\u2019t do that. The Festival Plaza, they bagged us over that. The O-Bahn, they bagged us over hat\u2026 the tram extension, the CBD school\u2026 the small bar legislation, we\u2019ve had to fight every inch of the way.\u201d<\/h3>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n
