Adelaide FC\u2019s recruiting manager concedes they risk missing<\/a> out on Jackson Edwards by waiting until Monday\u2019s rookie draft to pick up the father-son player.<\/h3>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve been really clear with Jackson and mum and dad the whole way through,\u201d Hamish Ogilvie told FIVEAA. \u201cTyson wanted that and so he should and we\u2019ve done that. I\u2019ve grown really close to Jackson over the last couple of years because he\u2019s spent so much time at the club and he\u2019s such a terrific lad.\u201d<\/h3>\n

\u201cWhat we\u2019ve done is we\u2019ve given him two opportunities. One is that if someone else picks him — and we understand that risk — we wish him well and he\u2019ll go off and have a great career with that club.<\/h3>\n

\u201cBut what we\u2019ve done is given him a really good backstop that he can stay at home and come to us. That\u2019s not a decision we made lightly, it\u2019s not a decision we haven\u2019t made [without] consultation with the family — we\u2019ve been right through that.<\/h3>\n
