Ambulance ramping began almost as soon as the new RAH opened and every hospital in the city was either at or over capacity this week.<\/h3>\n

\u201cEvery hospital was on code white,\u201d Phil Palmer from the Ambulance Employees Association has told FIVEAA, \u201cwhich means every hospital is over capacity — more patients than beds, except for Noarlunga and Women\u2019s and Children\u2019s were at capacity.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s the worst I\u2019ve ever seen.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cOn Wednesday this week the new RAH was ramping, the Queen Elizabeth was ramping, Flinders and Modbury were both ramping\u2026 all the private EDs were on full divert, so no one could go there.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt could\u2019ve started the very same day [the new hospital opened]. There was a direction to start diverting ambulances before the Royal Adelaide was even over capacity.<\/p>\n

\u201cI guess they wanted to avoid the embarrassment. But it was happening in full flight the very next day.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
