{"id":29153,"date":"2017-08-22T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2017-08-22T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cms.fiveaa.com.au\/uncategorized\/cooked-lettuce-and-peas\/"},"modified":"2017-08-22T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2017-08-22T00:00:00","slug":"cooked-lettuce-and-peas","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cms.fiveaa.com.au\/show\/cooked-lettuce-and-peas\/","title":{"rendered":"Cooked Lettuce and Peas"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Thanks to Rilka Warbanoff and Foodland.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Serves 6 to 8 as a side dish<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>2&nbsp; Tbsp. olive oil<\/p>\n<p>3 large golden shallots, thinly sliced<\/p>\n<p>2 garlic cloves, thinly sliced<\/p>\n<p>200 gm bacon rashers finely chopped<\/p>\n<p>100 ml white wine<\/p>\n<p>\u00bd cup frozen&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>400 ml chicken stock<\/p>\n<p>2-baby cos lettuce, quartered lengthways<\/p>\n<p><strong>Method<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Heat oil in a wide deep fry pan saucepan, add shallot and garlic and stir occasionally until just tender then add bacon and fry until golden.<\/p>\n<p>Add the wine and&nbsp; scrap all the bits from the bottom of the pan and cook until reduced by half Add peas and stock and simmer until peas are tender .<\/p>\n<p>Add lettuce on top, season to taste, cover and cook until lettuce wilts stir and serve.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Thanks to Rilka Warbanoff and Foodland.
