Minister for Human Services Alan Tudge says waste monitoring will be used to help target welfare recipients for drug testing.<\/h3>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ll choose a few locations,\u201d Mr Tudge told Leon Byner on FIVEAA. \u201cThose locations will be in part assessed on the basis of where there is known areas of high drug use.\u201d<\/p>\n

He also said there would be \u201cmore targeted selection\u201d as to who will be tested:<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ll do some analysis on the people who are most likely to have been drug users.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe authorities monitor the waste, and from the waste you can determine the incidences of drug use in a particular area.<\/p>\n

\u201cSome are extraordinarily high, by the way, particularly the use of ice.\u201d<\/p>\n
