Port Adelaide chairman David Koch has confirmed investigations are underway into a number of reports of appalling crowd behaviour at Showdown 42 on Saturday.<\/h3>\n

Kochie said along with reports players had been racially abused, there was a report a female Port Adelaide member was \u201cking hit from behind\u201d.<\/p>\n

Koch told David and Will on FIVEAA:<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve got to tread carefully here because social media can claim all sorts of things. That\u2019s why we really wait for the authorities to make their own investigations first before we get involved.<\/p>\n

\u201cParticularly with Showdowns there are tiny minorities from both clubs who will say things on social media, which when under further investigation don\u2019t stand up as correct, when each side tries to paint the others in a worse light.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m always pretty cautious about responding to this — particularly anything that\u2019s put up on social media from both sides, even our own members or supporters.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe try and check it out. We take a very objective view of it.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Earlier a Port Adelaide fan reported receiving death threats after she vilified Crows star Eddie Betts in an ugly social media post.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cThe Facebook rant we\u2019re looking at closely at the moment to see whether she is a member, and if so we will take the appropriate action,\u201d Kochie said.<\/p>\n

The club has also confirmed it is investigating claims Paddy Ryder was subjected to racial taunts from a Crows spectator.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Kochie said the stadium authority\u2019s initial report after the game found the crowd was \u201cquite well behaved\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cTheir initial report on Sunday morning to us was that general the crowd was really well behaved and the behaviour was no different to any other AFL game.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re waiting on a more detailed report from them.\u201d<\/p>\n
