The fans want the ball to be kept in play.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3>LISTEN HERE:<\/h3>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" frameborder=\"no\" height=\"166\" scrolling=\"no\" src=\"https:\/\/w.soundcloud.com\/player\/?url=https%3A\/\/api.soundcloud.com\/tracks\/310080567&amp;color=ff5500&amp;auto_play=false&amp;hide_related=false&amp;show_comments=true&amp;show_user=true&amp;show_reposts=false\" width=\"100%\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf someone does lose concentration or does stuff up, the view has always been that conceding a behind but actually getting virtually a shot at goal from point blank range has always been a pretty severe penalty,\u201d Leigh said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think we want it harsh, we want players to try and keep the ball in play.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.afl.com.au\/news\/2017-02-15\/afl-to-trial-ballup-after-deliberate-rushed-behinds-in-jlt\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">This year the AFL is trialling ball-ups<\/a> after deliberately rushed behinds in its preseason comp\u2026<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBecause [players] know the rules are a bit tighter, therefore they\u2019re more careful. I know you can get beaten by a point\u2026 but giving away the point to get the ball back is a very small penalty.
