When the invitation went to Gil, we were certainly expecting him to be there.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3>LISTEN HERE:<\/h3>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" frameborder=\"no\" height=\"166\" scrolling=\"no\" src=\"https:\/\/w.soundcloud.com\/player\/?url=https%3A\/\/api.soundcloud.com\/tracks\/296953246&amp;color=ff5500&amp;auto_play=false&amp;hide_related=false&amp;show_comments=true&amp;show_user=true&amp;show_reposts=false\" width=\"100%\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>But Pav said the players still managed to make their point to the AFL.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think they certainly left the meeting in no uncertain terms about what the players wants and how united we are.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He shot down suggestions the players were being greedy in the negotiations with the AFL\u2026<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s easy to talk about the average wage,\u201d Pav said. \u201cIf you talk about the median wage, it\u2019s actually a fair bit lower than that $300,000.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe average length of an AFL career\u2019s about five and a half years.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSeven out of 10 players leave the game with serious injuries and needing a lot of medical help\u2026<\/p>\n<p>\u201c[And] there\u2019s a number of players that we see each year that exit the game in bad wellbeing and also financial shape.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPlayers end up 10 or 15 years behind their contemporaries that they leave school with.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But Pav said it wasn\u2019t the public that had to buy the players\u2019 pitch.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t know if we have to sell the pitch to the public in all honesty.
