The man who was shot by police in Adelaide’s CBD after he allegedly threatened his young child with a gun has been identified as Damien Keith Hall.<\/strong><\/p>\n A suppression order on Hall’s identify was lifted when he came before the Adelaide Magistrates Court in a bedside hearing from hospital on Wednesday.<\/p>\n Hall, 26, was shot on Hindley St in the city’s nightclub strip on Monday night to end a dramatic high-speed police pursuit in which he allegedly abducted his partner and pointed a gun at his three-year-old daughter.<\/p>\n The chase began when Hall allegedly kidnapped the 23-year-old woman and their daughters, aged seven months and three years, at Cumberland Park and drove off.<\/p>\n His car was tracked by helicopter to the CBD where it roared down the pedestrian shopping strip Rundle Mall and through a police blockade, shocking onlookers.<\/p>\n Hall was stopped on Hindley St about 11.30pm, when the car was spiked and surrounded by police who opened fire citing the threat to the child.<\/p>\n Television footage showed officers pulling the distressed woman from the car, then grabbing the baby and the girl and rushing them to safety.<\/p>\n Armed officers swarmed the car, one scrambling over the hood to secure the gunman.<\/p>\n He underwent surgery for wounds to an arm and a leg and was charged with aggravated kidnapping, unlawful threats and acts to endanger life.<\/p>\n -AAP<\/em><\/p>\n ON TUESDAY…<\/strong><\/p>\n The man shot by police in a dramatic overnight confrontation has been charged.<\/p>\n \u201cHe has been charged with aggravated kidnapping, unlawful threats, acts to endanger life, use a firearm to commit an offence and drive dangerously to escape police pursuit,\u201d police said on Tuesday afternoon.<\/p>\n The injured man was taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening gunshot wounds to the arm and leg.
