We can all argue statistics,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>It emerged on Wednesday that people living in Adelaide\u2019s western suburbs have a higher incidence of heart diseases, yet will lose the local cardiac services being wound down at the QEH.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have provided good care for them,\u201d Prof Horowitz said. \u201cIn fact we have a lower mortality rate for heart attacks than the Royal Adelaide.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He said sending patients from the west to the RAH would be a \u201cdouble disadvantage\u201d because it would take longer and didn\u2019t have the same treatment record.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn many patients, to remove cardiac facilities from the Queen Elizabeth Hospital will be to deny patients at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital best care.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Prof Keith said the data was being taken \u201cout of context and being used to make a particular point\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s highly selective use of the data,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<h3>MOST POPULAR RIGHT NOW<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/cms.fiveaa.com.au\/shows\/david-and-will\/david-koch-on-crows-i-don-t-think-they-get-nearly-enough-credit\"><strong>KOCHIE\u2019S UNLIKELY COMPLIMENT FOR THE ADELAIDE CROWS<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/cms.fiveaa.com.au\/sport\/michael-voss-unfazed-by-whispers-behind-his-back\"><strong>MICHAEL VOSS UNFAZED BY \u201cWHISPERS\u201d<\/strong><\/a><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Prof John Horowitz \u2013 head of cardiology at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital \u2013 has caught a top health bureaucrat off guard with a question about mortality rates for heart patients in Adelaide hospitals.
