Leigh Matthews has handed one of last weekend\u2019s AFL games the dishonour of being the most boring game of football he\u2019s seen.<\/h3>\n

\u201cI was at the Sunday game between Carlton and Essendon,\u201d Leigh told Rowey and Bicks on FIVEAA. \u201cIt was the most boring game of footy I\u2019ve ever been to. There was four goals at halftime.\u201d<\/p>\n

Matthews made the comments after AFL football operations boss Mark Evans floated the left-field idea<\/a> of potentially only allowing player interchanges after a goal is scored.<\/p>\n

\u201cClearly the problem with that premise is that sometimes there\u2019s a low scoring game where there\u2019s very little change to interchange, and sometimes there\u2019s a high scoring game,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201c(It) sounds good in principle, but in any particular game you don\u2019t know how many chances that\u2019s going to end up being.<\/p>\n

\u201cLast Sunday at the MCG, in that game there would\u2019ve been four times to have interchange in the first half. Would\u2019ve had a lot of fatigued players,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
