As the city continues to reap the rewards of a revamped Adelaide Oval, Sports Minister Leon Bignell has said he would \u201clove\u201d to see horse racing return to Victoria Park.<\/h3>\n

\u201cI\u2019d love to see it back on the agenda,\u201d Mr Bignell told Rowey and Bicks on FIVEAA.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt would be terrific to have our Clipsal and horse racing all co-exist as one down there, but still leave plenty of room for people who want to get out and enjoy the parkland.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mr Bignell said the potential return of racing to the city was currently the subject of the Adelaide city committee.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey\u2019re getting around and just doing a whole lot of consultation with all the people who might have a say,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think that\u2019s probably not a bad way to start this, rather than the government coming out and saying we\u2019re going to have this.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe know what happened, it ended in tears. The council pulled the pin on racing in Victoria Park and we haven\u2019t seen it here since, and that was 11 or 12 years ago.\u201d<\/p>\n
