Burgess said the 5-6 weeks after Christmas are the hardest period of any AFL preseason.<\/p>\n
\u201c(Dixon) will probably have 1.5-2 weeks off legs, but then he\u2019ll be running and training after about three weeks.<\/p>\n
\u201cThen it\u2019s a matter of judgement whether he plays NAB Challenge or Round 1.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cHe said he wasn\u2019t training with much pain in the weeks and months leading up to it. So it was probably an incident in one of the many contests he gets to and he didn\u2019t quite realise and it was a bit sore afterwards,\u201d Burgess said.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe just thought he\u2019s only going to be a couple of weeks off his legs, so we\u2019ll get it tidied up now.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe\u2019s up moving around now, so he\u2019s not too bad. Not ideal, but not the worst.\u201d<\/p>\n
Burgess confirmed the injury was unrelated to another training incident in January when Dixon went to ground with knee pain.<\/p>\n
\u201cThat was his right knee and this is his left knee, so a different incident.\u201d<\/p>\n
