Premier Jay Weatherill was talking tough after apparent in-fighting inside Adelaide City Council led to the Lord Mayor\u2019s \u201crolling\u201d on city food truck\u2019s.<\/h3>\n

Under new rules passed by the council on Tuesday, only 10 food trucks will be allowed to operate in the city before 6pm on normal days, despite Lord Mayor Martin Haese advocating for the committee\u2019s previous position.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m staggered. I backed in the Lord Mayor,\u201d Mr Weatherill told David and Will on FIVEAA.<\/p>\n

\u201cI just can\u2019t believe they\u2019ve rolled him.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Premier said he would look at overturning the truck cap \u2013 even threatening legislative action.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe more I think about it, the angrier I get, and I am going to ask my colleagues to explore this and see whether there\u2019s some role we can play in overturning it.\u201d<\/p>\n

He said the city council was a \u201ccreature of state government, so we\u2019ve got legislative authority over the council.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWhatever powers they have are given by the state government, and they can be taken away by the state government.\u201d<\/p>\n
