Kane Cornes says Garry Lyon went behind his back by criticising his decision to retire partway through the season.<\/h3>\n

\u201cThe majority of the media really understood and was really supportive,\u201d Kane said at the FIVEAA footy awards of his decision to leave football for the metro fire service.<\/p>\n

But Kane said there were some who had a crack, \u201cwhich I thought was pretty unbalanced and a little bit unfair\u2026 without having the facts and jumping to conclusions.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI think Garry Lyon had a bit of a crack.\u201d<\/p>\n

He said Lyon was friendly and downplayed previous negative comments when Kane appeared on the Footy Show, but later criticised the Power champ on another show.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was disappointed in that one,\u201d Kane said.<\/p>\n

\u201cOn the Monday night on (Footy) Classified he\u2019s gone whack again and had another crack.<\/p>\n

\u201cI thought how weak is that, not to have a crack to my face when you had the opportunity.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut I realised it was a topical decision. It\u2019s not everyday that someone pulls the pin after round eight to go and do something else,\u201d Kane said.<\/p>\n
