The AFL is playing taxpayers off a break with its absurd bidding war.<\/h3>\n

The good news is that Adelaide will host the AFL National Draft in November, says David Penberthy.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut the question I\u2019ve got, is why it is necessary for any public money to spent to attract the event here?<\/p>\n

\u201cThe AFL is not going to hold it in Fiji or in South Africa.\u201d<\/p>\n

Penbo said it was absurd for the government to fork out money for the event.<\/p>\n

\u201cEspecially when the South Australian economy is put upon, to say the least. And especially when you consider the differential between the money that the AFL is making and the money that the SA government doesn\u2019t have.\u201d<\/p>\n
