A patient has been awarded a damages settlement after accidentally recording an anaesthesiologist mocking him while he was unconscious, reports news.com.au<\/a>.<\/p>\n The man hit record on his smartphone before his procedure to capture the instructions from his doctor when he awoke, but was shocked at what he heard when he listened back.<\/p>\n \u201cAfter five minutes of talking to you in pre-op, I wanted to punch you in the face and man you up a little bit,\u201d the anaesthesiologist, Tiffany M. Ingham, was recorded saying to him in the US in April 2013.<\/p>\n When an assistant noticed the man had a rash, Dr Ingham warned her not to touch it, saying she might get \u201csome syphilis on your arm or something.\u201d She added: \u201cIt\u2019s probably tuberculosis in the penis, so you\u2019ll be all right.\u201d<\/p>\n One assistant called the patient a \u201cretard\u201d, while staff speculated on whether he was gay.<\/p>\n LISTEN to the audio, care of The Washington Post:<\/strong><\/p>\n
