Police Commissioner Grant Stevens denies any wrongdoing and says reports featuring photos taken while he was overseas and posted on Facebook inaccurately portrayed the nature of his trip.<\/h3>\n

\u201cIt was a legitimate work trip,\u201d Commissioner Stevens told David and Will on FIVEAA Breakfast. \u201cIt complies with all the government expectations in terms of a chief executive or any person travelling overseas for work-related purposes.\u201d<\/p>\n

In May The Advertiser published photos<\/a> taken from Facebook of Commissioner Stevens visiting tourist attractions in London and Dubai with his family while away for work.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt should come as no surprise to anybody that during the course of my time away I had some time off,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI had time outside of work hours and I spent that time with my wife and my son who happens to live in the UK.<\/p>\n

\u201cThose photos were uploaded by my wife to share with our children who were back home and our friends. There\u2019s nothing wrong with that.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am disappointed though that those photos were taken and portrayed out of context in terms of the reason I was away.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was disappointed about that.\u201d<\/p>\n
