Tiller said he recently spoke with Richard Spalvins, publican of The British for the past 16 years, who told Tiller about a creepy experience he\u2019s never been able to explain.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey have a story of a gentleman named Claude who hung himself upstairs,\u201d Tiller said. \u201cClaude has been seen constantly by staff members, particularly in the kitchen and in the hallways.\u201d<\/p>\n
A couple of years ago, Richard arrived at the hotel one morning to discover his beer kegs in the basement were in disarray.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe found all the kegs had been pulled out from where they sit, all the lines had been detached and reattached to the wrong keg and all the pressures had been changed,\u201d Tiller said.<\/p>\n
Spalvins figured he would find the culprit by reviewing security camera footage.<\/p>\n
But despite having the correct time stamp \u2013 \u201cso no one\u2019s turned it off and turned it back on\u201d \u2013 the footage reveals nothing over the several hours it would have taken to rearrange the kegs.<\/p>\n
\u201cNo one is in there, nothing seems to move,\u201d Tiller said. \u201cHe can\u2019t figure out exactly how it\u2019s happened.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cHe\u2019s put it down to Claude the spirit messing around.\u201d<\/p>\n
And adding to the intrigue: the Lighthouse Hotel in Port Adelaide has also had the exact same thing happen to their beer kegs, without explanation.<\/p>\n
\u201cThat\u2019s a little bit of a coincidence,\u201d Tiller said. \u201cTwo hotels have had the identical ghost story happen in their basements, and there\u2019s nothing on the CCTV.\u201d<\/p>\n
