Local authorities appear to have rejected Channel 9\u2019s categorical statement that it did not pay money to have children abducted and returned to Australia.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey\u2019re pretty adamant the Nine Network did stump up the cash for this quite complex case,\u201d Charles told David and Will on FIVEAA breakfast.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey\u2019ve gone into some detail about the yacht that was waiting in a private hotel in its harbour in Beirut waiting to whisk the children off to Cyprus where they were going to be met by another operative.<\/p>\n
\u201cI know there\u2019s some debate about this cash, but certainly the local authorities are saying this is a very expensive operation,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe mother certainly wasn\u2019t paying for this but Channel 9 was paying the mother for the story, therefore they were paying this child abduction recovery international unit to take the children.\u201d<\/p>\n
