According to Mr Di Natale, Australia is trailing countries like France where governments and businesses are working together to plan for the change.<\/p>\n
\u201cHere in Australia we\u2019ve got our heads in the sand, hoping this problem\u2019s going to go away,\u201d he told David and Will on FIVEAA breakfast. \u201cIt won’t, and the impact is people lose their jobs with no transition plan in place.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe great tragedy here is that we\u2019ve had successive governments who have just failed to plan for it,” he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe know that this will continue to happen, particularly in some of those coal-mining communities, and yet we\u2019ve got governments sitting on their hands, not planning for the transition,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
