How can they have any confidence that things will get better?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Pathology bungle comes hot on the heels of news that a number of cancer patients were given the wrong doses of life-saving chemotherapy.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is totally unacceptable from our perspective,\u201d SA Health CEO David Swan said of the Pathology mistake.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUnfortunately we have a small number of staff that appear to feel that they are not responsible for those policies and procedures.<\/p>\n<p>He said he wanted to ensure the department was \u201ctransparent\u201d in its dealing with the public.<\/p>\n<h3>LISTEN TO DAVID SWAN HERE:<\/h3>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" frameborder=\"no\" height=\"166\" scrolling=\"no\" src=\"https:\/\/w.soundcloud.com\/player\/?url=https%3A\/\/api.soundcloud.com\/tracks\/257168994&amp;color=ff5500&amp;auto_play=false&amp;hide_related=false&amp;show_comments=true&amp;show_user=true&amp;show_reposts=false\" width=\"100%\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h3>When Health Minister Jack Snelling joined Leon Byner on mornings on FIVEAA, he vented his fury over the error and subsequent cover-up.<\/h3>\n<p>\u201cWe first found out about this on Saturday when my office was contacted by a journalist form the Sunday Mail,\u201d Mr Snelling said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo say that I was beside my myself with anger is understating it. I was furious that this would be going on and that a journalist would know about it and not an inkling from the people in SA Pathology to me or the CEO of SA Health. \u201cThat\u2019s why (SA Health CEO) David Swan took the action he did yesterday and sacked the executive director of SA Pathology (Ken Barr).<\/p>\n<h3>LISTEN TO HEALTH MINISTER JACK SNELLING HERE:<\/h3>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" frameborder=\"no\" height=\"166\" scrolling=\"no\" src=\"https:\/\/w.soundcloud.com\/player\/?url=https%3A\/\/api.soundcloud.com\/tracks\/257178799&amp;color=ff5500&amp;auto_play=false&amp;hide_related=false&amp;show_comments=true&amp;show_user=true&amp;show_reposts=false\" width=\"100%\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t care what Ken Barr\u2019s intentions were,\u201d Mr Snelling said. \u201cThe fact is this is a stuff up on a massive scale for which he has been sacked. I don\u2019t think he feels he\u2019s been dealt with gently or lightly in this.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is now a permanent stain on his record.
