Crouch missed Adelaide\u2019s NAB games against West Coast and Fremantle, but was expected to be fit for the Gold Coast match.<\/p>\n
Now teammate Brodie Smith says he\u2019s not so sure.<\/p>\n
“He trained on his own today \u2013 we had a bit of a lighter session and he’s at the stage where he needed a bit more in the legs for next week,” Smith said on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
“We’re taking a really cautious approach with him because obviously he’s had a few issues.<\/p>\n
“He’s trying to get right for next week, but whether that happens or not we’re not sure, so we’ll wait and see.”<\/p>\n
But Smith denied the club was worried about injury-prone Crouch.<\/p>\n
“[We’re] not nervous, we’re excited to get him back \u2026 I guess it’s a little frustrating for us because we are being so cautious with him \u2026 we really just want to have him out on the park,” he said.<\/p>\n
“He put in some really good sessions over the summer when we did match play and you saw what he could do.<\/p>\n
“We’ll give him all the time he needs so he doesn’t have those little breakdowns again.”<\/p>\n
When Smith joined Rowey and Bicks on the FIVEAA sports show, he said Adelaide\u2019s Round 1 team would be a tough one to pick.<\/p>\n
