{"id":32311,"date":"2016-02-12T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2016-02-12T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cms.fiveaa.com.au\/uncategorized\/caroline-wilson-s-theory-on-why-essendon-players-are-really-appealing-2\/"},"modified":"2016-02-12T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2016-02-12T00:00:00","slug":"caroline-wilson-s-theory-on-why-essendon-players-are-really-appealing-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cms.fiveaa.com.au\/show\/caroline-wilson-s-theory-on-why-essendon-players-are-really-appealing-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Caroline Wilson floats theory on why Essendon players are really appealing"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>Caroline Wilson has taken a swipe at Essendon for appealing the guilty doping verdict handed to it by the Court of Arbitration for Sport, and floated a possible \u201ccynical theory\u201d behind why the players are really appealing the decision.<\/h3>\n<p>Caro told the FIVEAA sports show that a \u201ccynical theory\u201d was doing the rounds about why Essendon players were really appealing the guilty CAS verdict.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf the players appeal, then they\u2019ve exhausted every avenue, so if and when they do take their club to court they can say they exhausted every possible action before taking them to court,\u201d Caro said.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"358\" width=\"648\" class=\"media-element file-default nova-lazyload-image-wrapper lz-cont img-responsive\" src=\"https:\/\/cms.fiveaa.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/essendon.png\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<h6>Essendon players will appeal the guilty doping verdict handed to them by CAS<\/h6>\n<h3>\u201cThat is another theory, one that not everyone agrees with. The AFL doesn\u2019t agree with it.\u201d<\/h3>\n<p>Caro slammed the players\u2019 decision to appeal, asking: \u201cWhen is somebody going to accept the judge\u2019s decision?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI know that sounds harsh.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She said she understood why the players would appeal, but couldn\u2019t see any \u201cupside\u201d in doing so.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey\u2019re still going to be suspended.
