In the wake of the latest A-League crowd disgrace, soccer commentator Simon Hill has unleashed an extraordinary attack on what he sees as a southern conspiracy to run down the sport.<\/h3>\n

Arguing with Graham Cornes on FIVEAA, Hill asked why so much time was spent talking about Western Sydney Wanderers who let off flares during a match on Saturday, while disgraceful crowd behaviour at a rugby match in Sydney went unnoticed.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhy don\u2019t you talk about this?\u201d Hill asked Cornesy.<\/h3>\n

\u201cWhy is that not a discussion point on your show?<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ll tell you why: because the stereotype fits for soccer, particularly down in the southern states where you are, and particularly where there is an agenda for Aussie rules to paint your sport in a better light than ours.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cornesy snapped at Hill, calling his comments \u201cridiculous\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat is you, Simon Hill, displaying your inferiority persecution complex, because that is far from the truth,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
