{"id":32322,"date":"2016-02-02T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2016-02-02T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cms.fiveaa.com.au\/uncategorized\/jared-polec-s-second-opinion-pays-off-2\/"},"modified":"2016-02-02T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2016-02-02T00:00:00","slug":"jared-polec-s-second-opinion-pays-off-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cms.fiveaa.com.au\/show\/jared-polec-s-second-opinion-pays-off-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Jared Polec\u2019s second opinion pays off"},"content":{"rendered":"<h6>Jared Polec | Image | AFL<\/h6>\n<h3>Port Adelaide\u2019s Jared Polec was looking at surgery on an injured foot and the&nbsp;possible end of his career&#8230;<\/h3>\n<p>But now the speedster is scheduled to play <a href=\"https:\/\/www.portadelaidefc.com.au\/news\/2016-02-01\/polec-midfielder-will-play-nab-challenge\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">two NAB Challenge games in February<\/a> and is on track to be available for selection from Round 1.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMost surgeons were leaning towards surgery,\u201d Polec told Rowey and Bicks on the FIVEAA sports show about his injury.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSome were talking about fusing the bones together which would\u2019ve led to not being able to move as well, so it means I wouldn\u2019t be able to play footy agility-wise.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But when Jared met with a doctor in Sydney who proposed a radically different plan.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFrom there we just rested it,\u201d Polec said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat was he\u2019s main thing \u2013 just rest. Rest is the best way.
