South Australia\u2019s shadow education minister says the Weatherill Government has been \u201cabsolutely tricky\u201d in deciding to create a second school zone in Adelaide.<\/h3>\n

\u201cJay Weatherill needs to explain why he broke this election promise,\u201d David Pisoni said on Monday when news of the second zone broke on FIVEAA Breakfast.<\/p>\n

Mr Pisoni said the government was previously \u201cadamant\u201d there would only be one school zone in the city.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey didn\u2019t want to have the debate during the election as to who would be entitled to go to the existing Adelaide High School and who would be entitled to go to the new city school,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is a major election promise broken by Jay Weatherill,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cNobody knows what school their kids will be entitled to go to.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe government\u2019s been absolutely tricky. Jay Weatherill needs to explain why he broke this election promise, it was a major election promise.\u201d<\/p>\n

Earlier on FIVEAA Breakfast education minister Susan Close confirmed there would be two zones.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe won\u2019t have a single zone for two schools, there will be two,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

She said a committee would \u201cwork through how we divide that up\u201d.<\/p>\n
