An Abbott supporter until the end, Liberal Senator Cory Bernardi has attacked the party\u2019s decision to replace its leader and has criticised colleagues for accepting \u201c30 pieces of silver\u201d.<\/h3>\n

\u201cI think it was absolutely wrong to roll a first-term sitting prime minister,\u201d Mr Bernardi told FIVEAA Breakfast.<\/p>\n

\u201cAustralia has now had six prime ministers in the last eight years.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is making politics a circus\u2026 and it\u2019s wrong.\u201d<\/p>\n

He said the spill had rewarded \u201ctreachery and disloyalty\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ll see who\u2019s taken their 30 pieces of silver in the promotional ranks of the ministry.\u201d<\/p>\n

His comments will be widely seen as a criticism of Mr Bernardi\u2019s Liberal party colleagues Christopher Pyne and Simon Birmingham.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve learnt nothing from Labor\u2019s mistakes and I just think this a huge step in the wrong direction.\u201d<\/p>\n
