\u201cHe should enjoy his last two weeks of his international career and get all the accolades he deserves because he\u2019s been a fantastic player, a fantastic leader and a good man.\u201d<\/p>\n
Boof said some of the reaction to Clarke\u2019s retirement had been \u201cdisappointing\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u201cThat\u2019s poor from the reporting side of it,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Past players including Matthew Hayden and Andrew Symonds and former national coach John Buchanan have all publicly criticised Clarke in recent days.<\/p>\n
But Lehmann said Clarke had been \u201ca great player for us, he\u2019s been fantastic\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt was quite an emotional morning for us all.<\/p>\n
\u201cI only found out at 6:15 in the morning. He made the decision the night before with his family and he spoke to Warney quite a bit who\u2019s his great mate.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe addressed the group just before we went out on the last day and it was quite an emotional time,\u201d Boof said.<\/p>\n
