Lleyton Hewitt has described himself as an \u201colder brother\u201d to Australia\u2019s up and coming male players, including Bernard Tomic who was axed from the Davis Cup team after he publicly criticised Tennis Australia.<\/h3>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s disappointing that he got ruled out of this Davis Cup tie,\u201d Hewitt told Rowey and Bicks on FIVEAA.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve got to try and get him back for the future.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe is one of the key players in Australian tennis, and he\u2019s actually a good kid. We\u2019ve really got to try and resolve it one way or another.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hewitt also backed Nick Kyrgios after the youngster came under fire for his on-court behaviour at Wimbledon.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe had a lot of pressure and expectation going into Wimbledon this year. Last year he went under the radar.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat pressure is a tough thing,\u201d Hewitt said.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe is only still 20. It\u2019s fantastic that he made himself available for this Davis Cup tie. Hopefully he can get over all that stuff with a win here.\u201d<\/p>\n
